Iberdrola, the only Spanish company selected among the most ethical in the world

It has been included for the sixth year in a row in the World´s Most Ethical Companies index, which acknowledges the role played by companies committed to promoting a corporate culture focused on ethical principles and to achieving their aims.

Iberdrola’s Compliance Manager, María Dolores Herrera, has underlined the group’s desire to “keep making progress to achieve a solid ethics culture and the excellence of our Compliance System, and to continue to implement its best practices in all the company’s departments and business lines.”

Iberdrola was the only Spanish company selected among the most ethical companies in the world, according to the World´s Most Ethical Companies ranking drawn up annually by Ethisphere Institute, world leader in the defining of standards and best practices in the field of compliance. It is the sixth year in a row the company has been included in this index.This ranking clearly demonstrates how companies are continuing to provide the driving force to move society forward and the momentum required for the development of an ethics-focused corporate culture.Iberdrola’s Compliance Manager, María Dolores Herrera, underlined that acknowledgements like that of Ethisphere Institute encourage us to keep making progress to achieve a solid ethics culture and the excellence of our Compliance System, and to continue to implement its best practices in all the company’s departments and business lines. This is down to the efforts of every one of us at Iberdrola, in which we also try to include all the interest groups we are involved with.This time, the World´s Most Ethical Companies index is formed by 128 companies from 21 countries and 50 different sectors. For their selection, Ethisphere Institute evaluates candidates in five categories: compliance and ethics programme (35%), ethics culture (20%), corporate social responsibility (20%), good governance (15%) and reputation and leadership (10%). The Ethisphere Institute launched this index in 2007 in order to acknowledge the role played by companies who are committed to promoting an ethics culture within the worldwide business community.
